Antonio
Bruni - All to the mountain pasture!
From the 18th of September until the 7th of November 2004
All to the mountain pasture! With this
jovial title, Antonio Bruni inaugurates at the Castle
of Gruyères his first major exhibition. With
his pictures, painted during the last two years,
he speaks to our mind and our senses. He proposes
a renewed vision of the farmers’ rituals and
of the “green” Gruyère’s
emblematic places. He delights our eyes with his
chromatic impressions and with his varied and brilliant
textures. With an amused tone, he cites masters such
as Piero della Francesca, Breughel or Van Gogh and
breaks down the publicity image.
Antonio
Bruni is a man with an enigmatic personality and with a
sharp ironic mind. Born in 1947 from a Swiss-Italian
mother and a gypsy father, he perpetuates the tradition
of bohemian artists. His travels in Asia and in the countries
of the Mediterranean, familiarized him with different cultural
traditions and never cease to inspire him. Established
in Gruyère for over twenty years, he lives a life
dedicated to the mountain and to pictorial creation.
