Yves
Eigenmann - Year instants
From the 22nd of January until the 16th of April 2005
Profiling itself majestically in the pre-alpine landscape,
the castle of Gruyères is a place with magic aura: where past and
present vigorously mingle. For a whole year, the photographer Yves Eigenmann
has let himself been inspired by the site. He has realised a report of
great fineness and, with a sensibility to life and to the people who inhabit
today these old walls, testifies. The exhibition holds a selection of 50
black and white images. The photographic qualities are one after the other
expressive and poetic, favoured by inkjet enlargements.
Yves Eigenmann was born on the 30th of January 1954 in
Bern. After a draughtsman and then photographer apprenticeship
in Fribourg and Yverdon, He moves to Montreal in 1980,
where he works for 10 years, amongst his employers, the
prestigious Canadian Centre for Architecture. At the beginning
of the 90s, he returns to Switzerland. Since then, he allies
his activities as an independent photographer and an employment
as technical co-worker at the Service cantonal des biens
culturels (Cultural Goods Service) in Fribourg. |
