From Thorgal to Skarbek

Rosinski
is one of the big names in comic books. He never stops to enrich his
graphic skills and to illustrate cult sagas, of which "Thorgal", "The
Great Power of the Chninkel" or "Ballad of the Lost Moors".
On a scenario of Yves Sente, he created in 2003 "The Revenge of
Count Skarbek" in which he developed an amazing pictorial
technique. The exhibition at the Castle of Gruyères marks the
coming out of the second and last volume of Skarbek adventures. The
exhibition
will offer a discovery of Rosinski fascinating world with near to fifty
paintings and original bookplates.
Grzegorz Rosinski was born in Poland in 1941. After his Baccalauréat es Arts,
he studied at Warsaw's Academy of Fine Arts and worked as an illustrator of books
and record covers. In 1968, he started publishing his first comic books with
success. His encounter in 1976 with the scriptwriter Jean Van Hamme will be very
important, bringing to light the famous hero Thorgal. In 1982, he leaves Poland
with his family and moves to Belgium. Many awards accompany his works. At the
present time, he lives and works in Switzerland.
