Noël
Aeby - Photographs
From the 27th of January until the 17th of June 2007
Produced during the last ten years, Noël Aeby’s photographs
lead us to a privileged encounter with the landscape of the Fribourg
region. The compositional drawing, the infinite plays of natural light,
the choice of timeless subjects characterise the approach and testify
of the artistic achievement of their author. At the same time, each
of the images capture moments of fleeting beauty, being the sun set
at the Point of the Vanil Noir, the edge of a forest ablaze with a
cloud or effects of mist in the autumnal countryside. The contemplation
of the 70 photographs reveals to be even more poetic as there are
no humans visible.
Born on
the 13 of December 1942, the Charmeysan Noël Aeby is a known
professional. From 1962, he was the appointed photographer to Ciba-Geigy
and then Ilford in Marly. He has also worked during many years as
the official photographer for the Tour of Romandie (1976-1989) and
the Tour of Switzerland (1977-1989). In parallel, he has multiplied
his travels, capturing with his inquisitive camera natural sites as
well as architecture or human portraits. Many prices, including twice
the Swiss Grand prix of photography, exhibitions in Switzerland and
abroad distinguish his work. Noël Aeby lives and works in Senèdes
near Fribourg. |
