waters@gruyères (QT Movie 2:16)
Famous for its prealpine panorama, poeticised by artists for its green pastures, Gruyère has still many hidden natural beauties, right where the mountain gives birth to its streams and rivers. The photographer Michel Roggo, with the passion and exactness that are his, has set off in search of these emblematic places, carrying out an intense work in locating and documenting them. Around forty colour photographs, as well as a spectacular slide show harmonising image and music, can be contemplated at the "waters@gruyères" exhibition at the castle of Gruyeres. The images reveal an astonishing aquatic theatre, above and under water, between bubbling life, harmony and visual splendour.
Michel Roggo is an important name in the Wildlife photography. A passion for nature, a globe-trotter like temperament and a philosopher’s mind distinguish his outstanding approach. Born in 1951, trained as a teacher, he also worked as assistant curator for the Natural History Museum in Fribourg, his home town. He is an independent photographer since 1991 and has acquired a world wide reputation over the course time with his documentaries, exhibitions and countless publications in prestigious magazines.
