Photo Esplanade – Anne Golaz
Corbeau
For the 3rd edition of Photo Esplanade, the Castle of Gruyères' open-air event, artist Anne Golaz takes us into the heart of her family history. Through images taken over the course of a decade, the photographer tells the story of her childhood farm and the transformations it underwent she experienced.
Between dream and memory, she recalls and transcribes in her images the smell of the earth, the sound of the animals and the toil of her brother, the main character in this photographic narrative. Both a chronicle of peasant life at the beginning of the 21st century and a documentary work, the series entitled Corbeau evokes things and times gone by through ambivalent nostalgia and intimate poetry.
