Article 13 of the Federal Constitution of the Swiss Confederation, Article 12 of the Constitution of the Canton of Fribourg and Fribourg's data protection legislation provide that everyone has the right to the protection of his or her privacy and to protection against the misuse of personal and sensitive data concerning him or her. Gruyères Castle strictly observes these provisions.
Personal data are treated confidentially and are neither sold nor transmitted to third parties without the prior consent of the person concerned.
Data collection
When you access our website, the following data is recorded: IP address, date, time, browser request and general information about the operating system and browser.
This data enables anonymous statistical evaluations to be carried out, in order to recognise trends and improve the services available on this website.
You can disable the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, such deactivation may prevent the use of certain features of this site.
This website uses Google Analytics, a website analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"), headquartered in the United States of America. Google Analytics is committed to complying with European Union data protection regulations.

Social networks - Third-party cookies

Data processing in the event of registration or completion of any type of contact form
When you register for content or fill in a contact form, we process the data required to provide the requested service. This data is used exclusively to provide the service you have requested.
If you register for an activity or event, your personal data will be kept until the day of the activity or event. It is destroyed within two months of the date of the activity or event.
You have the right, at any time, to request access to, rectification of or deletion of the personal data we process concerning you.
Newsletter
Subscribing to our newsletter allows you to be kept informed of Gruyère Castle’s activities. The frequency of the newsletter is a maximum of 12 newsletters per year. If you no longer wish to receive electronic communications about Gruyères Castle's activities, you can unsubscribe at any time by using the dedicated icon at the end of each newsletter.
To send our newsletter, we use the emailing platform Mailchimp. The data collected are stored on the servers of Mailchimp.
Mailchimp offers different analysis possibilities on how the sent newsletters are opened and used, for example the number of users who have received an e-mail, whether the e-mails have been rejected and whether users have unsubscribed from the list after receiving an e-mail.

Press
Media representatives may gain free museum entry with a press pass. For statistical purposes and for keeping track of any resulting media reports, you are required to submit the following information via electronic form before receiving a ticket: surname, first name, medium, email address, date of visit.
You may also indicate whether you would like to receive press releases and invitations to press conferences by email in future. If you agree, we will import your data (name, medium, email and language) into the mailXpert newsletter system (see section 3.2). With each message that you receive from us, you have the option to change, edit, or delete the information you provided when registering with us.
If you state that you do not want to receive information from us, your data will be deleted.
Security
Every effort is made to protect the personal data stored. The aim is to prevent any manipulation, loss or unauthorised access by a third party. Despite our best efforts, it is not possible to fully guarantee the security of information exchanged over the Internet.
