Luc Mattenberger
Glitching Doping Breathing
As long as he’s been an artist, Luc Mattenberger has had a fascination for engineering and science. He takes this exploratory approach to the Gruyères Castle, unveiling research on relationships between body, spirit, and machines. The halls of the old fortress become his playroom, where surprising installations reveal the impact of technology on our perceptions, our emotions, and our cognitive processes.
Relying on his neuroscience research, the artist from Geneva presents artwork and installations that examine how technical environments impact attention, memory, and decision-making. In an era where machines analyze our behavior with unprecedented accuracy, he questions our psychic stability, the impermanence of our emotions, and the variations in our conscience.
